Week 4 Reflection

The article "How Will You Measure Your Life?" by Clayton M. Christensen offers valuable insights into various aspects of life, career, and personal values. Christensen shares his thoughts based on his experiences in the business world and academia, providing lessons that are easy to grasp.

One of the primary lessons from the article is the crucial importance of aligning your personal values and principles with your actions and decisions, both in your work and personal life. Christensen emphasizes the significance of having a clear sense of purpose and values, showing how they can guide you toward a more fulfilling life. He illustrates this by sharing personal experiences where sticking to his principles, even in challenging situations, made him feel more satisfied and true to himself.

Furthermore, the article stresses the value of humility and being open to learning from others, regardless of their social status or position. Christensen's insights on the role of humility in personal and professional relationships highlight the importance of treating everyone with respect and being open to different points of view to grow personally.

Additionally, the article encourages readers to think about their priorities and how they use their limited resources of time, energy, and assets. Christensen advises prioritizing building strong relationships with family and loved ones, reminding us of the lasting happiness these connections can bring.

As for what I expect to learn and experience after reading this article, I am excited to explore how these valuable lessons can be put into practice in my own life. I'm particularly interested in taking time to think about my core values to ensure they match my actions and choices. I think about what the Prophet said last Sunday in General Conference, "Think Celestial". If I align my core values with that thought then my life will be a lot better and a lot more at peace.  Additionally, I'm looking forward to practicing humility in my interactions with others and learning from different perspectives. Lastly, I'm excited to find ways to effectively prioritize and use my resources to nurture meaningful relationships with my loved ones, recognizing the significant and lasting joy they can bring.

In conclusion, Clayton M. Christensen's article provides great insights into living a meaningful life by aligning your values with your actions, practicing humility, and focusing on what truly matters in the pursuit of happiness. It serves as a reminder to reflect on your own life, make deliberate choices, and actively contribute to a life filled with fulfillment and integrity.
