Week 7 Reflection

One of the most impactful habits from Covey's 7 Habits is Habit 2: "Begin with the End in Mind." This habit resonates with me deeply because it emphasizes the importance of setting clear goals and having a vision for your life. It's a reminder that before we start any endeavor, we should have a clear understanding of what we want to achieve. This habit encourages you to define your personal mission statement, which serves as a compass for your life. Having a sense of purpose and direction has been instrumental in my personal and professional growth. Covey's 7 Habits are not just a set of self-help techniques; they are a holistic approach to personal and interpersonal effectiveness. When practiced consistently, these habits guide individuals towards a life filled with passion and purpose while achieving private and public victories. For instance, Habit 2, "Begin with the End in Mind," encourages us to identify our core values and long-term goals, which ...

Week 6 Reflection

While reading President Tanner’s talk, "Success is Gauged by Self-Mastery" I learned a lot of important skills for both life and business. This was my favorite reading for the week as I feel I gained the most from it.  In this talk, the speaker shares some down-to-earth insights into why self-discipline, self-control, and self-mastery are so crucial for achieving success and living a good life. Even though this talk was given in 1975, I feel that its wisdom is just as relevant today. It's all about living by moral standards and sticking to the right path in life, even when it's tough. President Tanner begins by talking about how special it is to hold the priesthood in the Church and how important it is to live in a way that reflects its values. It also celebrates the Church's growth all around the world and the excitement and com...

Week 5 Reflection

In the video transcript called “A Hero’s Journey,” the speaker shared some really cool ideas about life and purpose. Here’s what I got from it: 1. Find Your Passion: The speaker talks about how you should find what you’re really passionate about. It’s about using your natural talents to do something you love and that can make the world a better place. 2. Stay True to Your Values: He mentions setting clear boundaries for yourself, like the “I will nots,” and making it easy to stick to them. When you cross one of those boundaries, it’s like a warning sign to stop and think. 3. Choose the Right Company: Surround yourself with awesome, character-driven people. They can boost your productivity and keep you on the right track. Don’t forget about family – spend time with them because moments with loved ones are precious. 4. Embrace Life’s Journey: The Hero’s Journey is about living every moment like it counts. It’s okay to face challenges and learn from mistakes. The key is to f...
